CHI SQUARE TESTS

We have conducted CHI SQUARE TESTS and they are as follows:

1. We conducted a chi-square test to find that is there a significant relationship between the household income and the level of expenditure one does in single visit and the results were: H0: There is no significant relationship between household income and expenditure in one visit Ha: Household income and expenditure in one visit are related Significance level (alpha) = 5 %

Pearson chi square test static is 33.263 and p-value << 0.05

Hence we can reject the null hypothesis and we can conclude that Household income and expenditure in one visit are dependent on each other.

From the above table, we can conclude that there is a positive correlation between Household income and expenditure in one visit. This Correlation is significant at the significance level of 0.05 because p value << 0.05 Hence we can say that a person belonging to high household income will spend more in one visit.

2. We conducted a chi-square test to find that if there significant relationship between the Age groups and Frequency of visit and the results were: H0: There is no significant relationship between Age groups and frequency of visit Ha: Age groups and frequency of visit are related Significance level (alpha) = 5 %

Pearson chi square test static is 18.449 and p-value = 0.03, or we can say p value < 0.05 Hence we can reject the null hypothesis and we can conclude that Age groups and frequency of visit are dependent on each other.

From the previous table we can conclude that there is a weak negative correlation between Age groups and frequency of visit. But these two are not significantly correlated because p value > 0.05 Hence we cant say that older or younger people will visit more frequently.

3. The last chi-square test that we conducted was between Gender and Frequency of visit to find the significant relationship between them. The results were: H0: There is no significant relationship between Gender and frequency of visit Ha: Gender and frequency of visit are related Significance level (alpha) = 5 %

Pearson chi square test static is 4.762 and p-value = 0.190 or we can say p value > 0.05 Hence we failed to reject the null hypothesis and we can conclude that Gender and frequency of visit are independent of each other.
