Music Room Design, LHC

This paper describes our experience with lecture halls with regard to the room acoustics and sound reinforcement. The optimum reverberation time and geometrical conditions are well known. Of course, good acoustics are also important in lecture halls. The background noise must be minimized and the room form and materials must be designed so as to support the acoustics in order to provide high intelligibility. Since the number of seats in a lecture hall is generally higher than in a small classroom, the achievement of good speech acoustics is more complex.
