Chapter II OBJECTIVES

This chapter provides the reason why there is a need for the student nurses to study the patients case which is Schizophrenia, Undifferentiated. At the end of the presentation, the student nurses should be able to:

General Objectives:
Comprehend and recognize salient points that are important to remember

when dealing with patients who manifested Schizophrenia; its nature, causes, manifestations, management, and prognosis This is to enhance the students and other health care providers awareness, knowledge, and understanding of it in order to promote health, prevent the disorder and help manage patients to recover. Specific Objectives: Present the clients database Discuss the family history of the client Identify the activities of daily living, past and present illnesses and physical assessment of the client and how it may contribute to clients present condition.

Discuss the clients psychodynamics


Present the doctors order and laboratory examinations and their

implications
Identify the clinical manifestation of the disorder based on the theories and

actual observations. Present the medical management of the disease.


Present the actual and ideal interventions in relation to the diagnosis and

clinical problem of the client featured in the Nursing Care Plan. Identify the prognosis and recommendations for the client, family and community with this type of disorder.
