Our friend Fortune. Prologue ..

You were the model of perfection full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden -the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, diamond, beryl, emerald, crysolite, onyx, turquoise and jasper. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as the guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till sin was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and expelled you- O guardian cherub- from among the stones of fire. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you made your wisdom sinful because of your beauty. By your many sins and dishonest trade you have defiled your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out of you and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All the nations who knew you are shocked at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more. Ezekiel 28:12-19.

The Guardian of Perfections

Indeed Fortune was a fortunate to me, to herself and to everyone who was fortunate to meet her. From the day I first met her the very first day to see the roof of a classroom- I was fortunate to have met Fortune as a friend and as a classmate. As some of the children, classmate, were to consider crying for their mentors presence, Fortunate was like a lamb in a slaughter room. She hardly cried nor had a thought to imagine suggesting missing her guardians- an act that attracted me to be fortunate in the first place. Throughout our lives from baby class till our fourth year in Jerusalem, Fortune had not changed even a single hair of her characters. Her duties were punctual and her attitudes positively oriented. Nobody, who had ever been given a title as a leader in the entire Israel since its foundation, could meet her pride of leadership. This was of a great magnificent of greatness that secured her gratefulness of unknown height from every corner of the city. Teacher, parents and my fellow pupils were highly influence and impressed to consider her a respectful, obedient, humble and a loyal pupil of which, all the virtues of perfections were credit onto her. Not only in her leadership as a class monitor was Fortune a fortune, but she was also fortunate in academics. Being ranked in top three year in year out

was another paradise of itself- sweeping the entire bliss to her heart. From the onset, the name Fortune was not just a name but a glittery future above the highest peaks of Mount Everest- no doubt. As days counted them to months and months to a year, the fifth year was ushered as changes were noted from the wholesome sky. The ever raining clouds of nourishments were swept away by the fateful eastern tropical wind, exposing the ever merciless sun to land its scorching rays onto a fragile flower by the foot of a cool mountain. The only flower of a great splendour dried out painfully and hopelessly in the very eyes of its mentors. Fortune had been heart killed in all her duties, glorifying the world with all her belongings and her glorious name thus fell on ice. The light of future hope faded- Fortune had lost the sky, the ground and very soon the sea. Giving it a mind on some tender moments back there; was it not only the other day we would tell each other that our dream was to be a doctor? Was it not yesterday we would promise each other that forever education and together we excel? Was it not a second away we agreed that we were of university-the birds of the same feathers? Or was it not a blink gone we acknowledged determination, perseverance and honesty to be the light upon our feet as we press on the road of success for our academic goals? Why then have you gone blind to pervert all these so sudden that you could dare manipulating-to you mentors- a white falsehood of myopia and alimentary disturbance into genuine problems you have miraculously developed as challenges towards your education? O our fortunate friend, you are unfortunate on this, you got yourself decaying fake friends Rahab and Jezebelwho value nothing from Israel- the holy city of God- and have taught you the tricks of white lies of Sidon, Tyre and Babylon. Landed them into your mentors ears, the daylight faded and the eerie night was launched; they obediently went true on you and considered you to stay from Jerusalem for awhile as this would cure the problem of sight and digestion for awhile in isle of Babylon. Despite the fact that awhile and awhile in Babylon is not awhile, for your unfortunate fortunate mentors, it surely lives. This time you have pressed the wrong button and stepped on a forbidden ground-you have made a wrong choice and a wrong destiny waits in ambush. It is now awhile and a half awhile since Fortune was fortunate as a fortune for her mentors for awhile in the land of Babylon. Going to Jerusalem and walking tirelessly back to Nazareth; we could see our friend Fortune heavily helping her mentor in settling a discount, rejecting debts and aiming at profits with Tyres and Siddons-just for awhile. Glimpsing on us which is usually unexpected, out of

embarrassment, our fortunate friend would be unfortunate to run for a hideout off our sight disappearing from a darker corner to the darkest darkness. Of course many Babylonians would prefer this to freeze in a hot burning light of embezzling embarrassment. O Fortune- the guardian of perfections, did I not get it that on the way to Jerusalem you were quoted in a purple blue scarlet situation in Tyre near Sidon in the citadel of Babylon at blue hours before the earliest cock could see the light of the dawn? The wind of rumours from the north docks it into my cold ears behind closed doors-just for awhile. Nevertheless, being in the sixth year in Jerusalem from Nazareth as a Nazarene is neither an easy task nor a smile of fortune to be granted, though we-the remnant- are determined that giving up for a life in Babylon is the darkness that will never see a single ray of the day. Even so, for you our dear fortunate Fortune-the guardian of perfection, even a storm storms and later it shines again, winter gives up to summer as whatever is hot grows coldfor nothing holds forever. Base on this ground, giving hope to the current life in the salty water, our friend concludes from our advices; For your information, life credits nobody and hence did not guarantee me to education for eternity. Cool. Unfortunate Fortune, allow me to conclude too, salty water gives up not to fresh water for eternity. A choice in life is a choice for and of destiny and wisdom therefore is essential when choosing a life to rail on. Two choices are available to decide on a choice of death, of perishable decays geared by fleeting pleasures of this collapsing world and a choice immortality of righteousness and holiness of this life and the next. All in all, as the world quotes and wraps our unfortunate Fortune with perishable decays of mortality, our mission is one; to be a responsible society of tomorrow which has been reinforced by our decision to live in advocating for imperishable, righteousness, holiness and as God fearing children through Christ Jesus our Lord as our sole assurance to be called Children of God and to live to see Him in His appearance as He is for eternity. Shalom.
