ThisguidetopullingaparttheRapidBoltassumesyouhavenewstyleMKII ThismeansyouhavethenewstyleBolt(onlyearlyMKIhadtheolderstyle) AndthereceiverhasthecutoutundertheBoltGatePlatetoremovetheCockingdog!!. OntheearliermodeloftheRapid,youwillhavetoremovethetriggerfirst,togettothe CockingDog!

FirstremovetheBoltHandle NextremovethetopandbottomscrewssecuringtheBoltGatetothereceiver. Nowyoucanseethemachinednotch.ThisallowsaccesstotheCockingDog!

RotatetheBoltSotheCockingDogisfacingyouinthenotchandremoveit. NowyoucanslidetheBoltassemblyout.Wipeoffthegreaseontheboltandcleanit

 LookingattheBoltassemblyfromthefront(probe)end, Youcanseetheinternalsnapringthesecurestheprobeassembly

Usingsnapringpliers,removethesnapringtoreleasetheprobeassembly Theprobeassemblywillnowslideout. ThisconsistoftheInnerandOuterProbe,ProbeSpring,andSealingWasher TipthefrontendoftheBoltdownandthetensionrodshouldslideout

 Justforreference,herearetheTensionandSetScrewstotheBolt. Normallyyouwouldonlyremovethemtocleanandreoilthem!

Shownhereisthefullydisassembledbolt. Itconsistsof: (Fromtoptobottom,lefttoright) 1. TensionAdjustmentScrew 2. TensionRod 3. BoltBody 4. SnapRing 5. Tensionlockingsetscrew 6. InnerProbe 7. SealingWasher 8. ProbeSpring 9. OuterProbe

ToreassembleyourRapidBolt,justreversetheaboveprocedure. Toreadjustthebolt,followtheprocedureoutlinebyTheoben Herearetheirinstructions:

OnelastcommentaboutworkingontheBoltofyourRapid.IfyouareneedingchangetheOuterProbeduringa Caliberchange. Thiscanbedonewithoutremovingthebolt! Whenyoupullthebarrel,youdohaveaccesstotheSnapRing. Afteryoupullthebarrel,locktheBoltintheforwardposition. LookingdownthebarrelchannelyoucanseetheSnapRing.UsingaRightanglesnapringpliers YoucanremovetheSnapRing!!
