Trigonometric Identities

Trigonometric Identities
Trigonometric identities is the branch of trigonometric functions i.e. sine, cosine and tangent. It is the study of the relations of the sides, angles of triangles and the relevant functions of any angles. Trigonometry identities is the list of various formulae such as sum, product, triple, half angle, double angle identities of the trigonometric functions. There are six trigonometric functions identities are given below: Sin(x) = opposite/hypotenuse = o/p Cos (x) = adjacent/hypotenuse = a/h Tan (x) = opposite/adjacent = o/a Cot (x) = adjacent/opposite = a/o Sec (x) = hypotenuse/adjacent = h/a Cosec (x) = hypotenuse/opposite = h/o Know More About :-Define Rational Expressions

Basic formula of trigonometric identities is: Tan (x) = sin (x)/cos (x) Cosec (x) = 1/sin (x) Cot (x) = cos (x)/sin (x) Sec (x) = 1/cos (x) Reduction identities formula of trigonometry is given as: Sin (-x) = -sin (x) Cos (-x) = cos (x) Tan (-x) = -tan (x) Sin (x) = - sin (x - 180?) Cos (x) = - cos (x - 180?) Some double angle Trigonometric Identities are given below: Sin (2x) = 2sin (x).cos (x) Cos (2x) = 1 2sin2 (x) Tan (2x) = 2tan (x)/1 tan2 (x)
