Sign Language: The Sign Language class will be ALL year! So if your child is interested in this it will be best if they take the class the whole year. Tanya Croyl, the teacher, really would like to build up the children's knowledge and sign language skills. She's even hoping that her father-in-law, who is deaf, will be able to visit the class so they can test their newly learned skills with a person that is truly hearing impaired. This class will also require the child to practice their signing skills at home in front of a mirror. Age: 10+ Supplies: 1 folder with brads and pencil. Cost: $5 Art: The children will be doing age appropriate activities that include coloring, painting, playing with clay, etc. Age 5-9 Cost: $5 Government: Election: we will be learning about the election process, importance of voting, how the electoral college works and the history of political parties. This class will be non- partisan. Age: 10+ Supplies: 1 folder with brads and pencil Cost: $3 History: Come learn about some of the first people who lived on earth! We'll cover Ancient Egypt as well as other ancient civilizations. Classes will be a mix of readings, coloring sheets, lapbooking, map work, and hands-on activities. The class will rely heavily on the book Story of the World. Age: 5-8 Supplies: one inch binder Cost: $4 Science Engineering: We will be doing engineering type science labs and activities. Some of these activities will include the egg drop, how engineers decide to what building materials to use and other fun activities.
