INCLUSION CRITERIA Studies collected and included in this Evidence Based Nursing were required to review the nursing

and medical managements of ventriculoperitoneal shunt infections. Studies that didnt use the English language were excluded. Those with Hydrocephalus (Congenital, Post-Meningitis and Secondary to Intracranial Mass) were included. Studies that were published only in the year 2000 to 2011 were included and are eligible for references for the EBN review. Thorough analysis on the collected journals and articles were done to ensure the validity and authenticity of the said studies to avoid duplication and/or republication of the said materials to other publications.
