Dressing sense
Men usually wear shirt and trouser which is usually not accompanied by a tie. They prefer an informal way of dress Women on the other hand prefer lightweight bussiness suits.

Communication style
Four common language are Malay Chinese tamil and english English is widely used in business areas. Vagueness and substitutions are often used to avoid disagreement. Be aware of the face of the other side.

Meetings and work ethics


Appointments shoul be made well in advance. a Singaporean might not look others in the eye during a meeting. never touch a person of the opposite sex in a business meeting. a singaporean perceive the more direct western-style discussions as aggressive and disrespectful

Gift giving
gift should be given to the group rather than an individual. Gifts are not usually opened when they are received. Avoid flowers as they may be associated with funerals and death Gifts should be carefully wrapped

greeting
Greeting are based on the ethnic origin and the age of the person. A women must extend her hand first while for a formal handshake. Introduction are always in order of age or status.
