MILTON HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s): On Thursday, September 13, 2012 there will be an Open House at Milton High School for the parents/guardians of all high school students. This is a great opportunity to get an overview of the high school, receive information from various organizations, familiarize yourself with your childs schedule, and meet teachers and administrators. The Open House will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. 6:30 - 6:55 p.m. - Parents/guardians are invited to the auditorium for an introduction and brief discussion of high school expectations. Outside of the auditorium, the following organizations will have representatives on hand that will speak briefly about their efforts to support the high school: The Milton Foundation for Education, the Boosters, Diversity Committee, Friends and Advocates of Music Education (F.A.M.E) and Friends and Advocates of Visual Arts F.AV.A. Please stop by their tables to learn more about each of these groups/organizations. 7:00 - 8:26 p.m. - Parents/Guardians will follow the students schedule for the periods 1 (A) through 7 (J). Each class presentation will last approximately eight (8) minutes. We will announce a change in periods over the PA system. Below, please find the schedule: Period A B C D EF/FG GH/HI J Time 7:00 - 7:08 7:13 - 7:21 7:26 - 7:34 7:39 - 7:47 7:52 - 8:00 8:05 - 8:13 8:18 - 8:26

As you go from class to class each teacher will give you a synopsis of the class for the year. This is a great opportunity for you to get acquainted with the content, instruction and expectations of each class in your son/daughters schedule. Please remember, Open House is not the forum to speak to teachers about individual students. Administrators and guidance counselors will be available throughout the evening and volunteers from the MHS Student Leaders will serve as guides as well. Since the parking lot at the high school will be full, parents/guardians are encouraged to carpool to Open House if possible. We look forward to seeing you at this important event. Sincerely, James F. Jette
