1 Control System- (10B11EC515) Tutorial-7
Q1 Using the Routh-Hurwitz criterion, determine the stability of the closed-loop system that has the following characteristic equations. Determine the number of roots of each equation that are in the right- half s-plane and on the y=jw-axis.
Q2 For each of the characteristic equations of feedback control systems given, determine the range of K so that the system is asymptotically stable. Determine the value of K so that the system is marginally stable and determine the frequency of sustained oscillation, if applicable.
Q3 Given the forward-path transfer function of unity-feedback control systems, apply the Routh-Hurwitz criterion to determine the stability of the closed-loop system as a function of K. Determine the value of K that will cause sustained constant-amplitude oscillations in the system. Determine the frequency of oscillation.

Q7 In the system shown in figure 7, the command input is R=10 and disturbance signal is T L =4,what is the steady state error.
Figure7 Q8 The figure8 shows PD controller used for the system. Determine the value so that system will be critically damped.Calculate its settling time.
Figure 8 Q9 The negative feedback control system has the forward path transfer function as, 6( x) = 2 x( x+1)
While the feedback path transfer function H(s) is 10.Determine the sensitivity of the closed loop transfer function w.r.t G and H at m = 1 rad/ xec.
Q10 For the system shown determine % M p and T s when it is excited by the unit step input. If for the same system, PD controller having constant T d =1/30 is used in forward path, determine new values of damping ratio, M p and T s . Draw respective waveforms.
