The Challenge:
Feast on the words of Christ in the scriptures and come prepared with your scriptures at church.

The Reward:

How to ll the jar: 1) READ YOUR SCRIPTURES: You get 2 kernels for each scripture verse that you read. Record the number of verses that youve read on your chart and bring that with you to church on Sunday. 2) BRING YOUR SCRIPTURES: You get 5 kernels just for bringing your scriptures to church with you on Sunday; Sr. Primary children should bring the full standard works, Jr. Primary can receive credit for simply bringing their Book of Mormon. 3) MEMORIZE SCRIPTURES: You get 10 points for every verse of scripture that you memorize. *Please keep track of the number of scripture verses read on the chart below and bring it with you to church on Sunday; your teachers will help you add all your kernels of wisdom to our jar.

PARENTS: Our goal is to help your Primary child become anchored in the scriptures. The scriptures contain the word of God. As we read the scriptures, we learn to love them. We learn to love the Lord. We learn what He would have us do... (Cheryl C. Lant, Anchored in the Scriptures, open house address, Sept. 2005). Please join us in this challenge to help your Primary child read, understand, and feel the Spirit of the scriptures. Your child may count anything read alone or with anyone in the family (e.g. during family home evening, family scripture study, etc.). While we see this activity as a way to ignite a desire to read the scriptures, we hope that you will become involved by helping them understand the scripture stories and teachings, answer questions, and recognize the Spirit.
