Camera

The camera in this scene is quite shakey, giving the effect of suspense and fear. It closes up on peoples faces showing all the emotion in detail and their expressions. Feels like you get close to the characters. The camera closes up most on the main characters faces. The camera follows everybody running into the centre to collect weapon as if we are running with them. Camera focuses on focal points, like weapons or certain areas that the characters need to be in. Wide shot at 1:35 to show all the characters running in to the centre, makes you feel agitated and want to know what will happen. Camera moves very fast, makes you feel like your in a real fight. Camera is slightly blurry Filmed as a viewpoint as someone in the arena.

Sound

Music builds up as it counts the seconds. Loud booms create tension and anticipation. Music is quite eerie and creepy, meant to scare the watcher. High pitched and echo-y music creates a disturbing scene and dramatic scene. Music goes quiet as people are being killed but builds up and gets louder and deeper as it focuses on Katniss. You cant hear any screams or noises from the fight which is even creepier as its just silent. Fast pace music as Katniss is running, builds tension again. Music softens as Katniss and Peeta escape, calm but still slightly eerie and scary.

Mise-En-Scene

Quite dark and ominous. All characters are wearing dark clothing and carrying weapons. Dull lighting, shows how the people are feeling. LOTS if props including weapons, backpacks, tents etc Set in a forest, this specific scene is in a large grassy area surrounded by trees. A large tent in the middle of the area. Main area is light but in the forests its dark.

Editing

Quick and sharp editing creates a jumpy and suspenseful feeling. When the tributes run into the centre and start being killed, good editing of blood (deaths look a little realistic). Use of slow motion. Quickly cuts to people faces.
