As we move into 2012, I wonder if the last year may have left you a little stunned? The last 2 years have certainly been interesting for most people. Think back to where you were 2 years ago - I wouldnt be surprised to hear if there have been quite a few twists and turns in your life. Astrology helps us keep track of cycles on a collective and individual level and we are all going to experience some groundbreaking changes in different areas of our lives over the next few years. When I write your forecasts, Im looking at an energy pattern that can be felt collectively and honing in on a particular area for each sun sign. I am conscious that some people who read this will have little or no experience or understanding of astrology and some of you may be more advanced. My aim is to make the yearly forecast an enjoyable read for everyone who comes across it. Ive thrown in a few astrology phrases and words here and there that you may not be familiar with, but if you are interested in understanding a little more about astrology I suggest you visit www.astroartisan.com for a detailed, free information portal about astrology cycles. people who have been negatively affected by these current times and who are struggling in one way or another. Perhaps we have family members or friends who are coming to terms with losing a job, or even their home. Perhaps we have experienced this ourselves. If we are fortunate enough to have missed the current financial tension in our own arena, its impossible to escape the daily bombardment of financial forecasting. This affects us all in some way and whilst we may have started to see the green shoots of recovery in some areas of the world, there will be peaks and troughs over the coming years. This is not a comfortable process. However, it does mean that we will find creative ways to make things work for us. It also gives us the benefit of taking a closer look at our lives and the lives of people around us, and make readjustments to our current perspectives.

2012 brings some fundamental changes. Something new is on the horizon. We caught glimpses of what those changes might mean last year, but this year takes us right to the heart of the matter. 2012 marks the peak of a transition; a cross over into a new, exciting, and at times challenging era. Many of us have already been directly affected by the global recession, and it impacts on us all in different ways. Of course some people are doing well, maybe even better than before - our own individual cycles play a part in how we are currently faring. Regardless of our own circumstances, we may know

Im a great believer in compassion specifically grounded compassion, which is really an acknowledgment of other people around us. Its sad this has been so severely lacking that, when we do experience it, we dont actually recognise it any more. When people do things for us, most people subconsciously reach for a motive. If we cant see or fathom a motive, we are immediately suspicious and perhaps even mildly condemning. Our immediate response is distrust because this is not something we experience very often. We have lived in a WIIFM (Whats in it for me) society for way too long and I believe this has eroded our sense of community. I propose a WIIFU (Whats in it for us) society, starting in 2012 - a more integrative and balanced point of view that ensures we meet not only our own needs, but the needs of the

2012 Bringing Compassion back into Fashion!

people with whom we come into contact day to day. 2012 potentially brings compassion and kindness back into vogue on a humanitarian and global level. Actually, I think this trend has started already check out yearofkindness (you can click on the link) a blog I found particularly inspirational. Written by an Aries with a mission, she recently spoke about her thoughts and experiences whilst promoting kindness. In her post titled Kindness Army (very Aries indeed!) she said;
I cant quite believe that I am now almost six months into my Year of Kindness. Seems like only yesterday I was stumbling through my very first day, offering smiles to strangers and receiving very few in return. I didnt like all the negativity, selfishness and cruelty I saw all around me. After a long time of feeling frustrated and helpless, I decided I would do something about it. I wanted to prove (to myself as much as anyone else) that despite all the inevitable bad stuff in life, even the smallest acts of good can be powerful in the most unexpected ways and every single person has the power to make the world a kinder place.

A Pivotal Point

2012 has stood out for most astrologers as being a pivotal year due to Pluto and Uranus coming together. These 2 major planets form a number of exact tense aspects over the next few years and 2012 begins this process. Tension is not necessarily bad, but we are all being driven towards change in some way. I have written about how these 2 planets directly affect you in your report.

How to use this guide

You can, of course, read your guide from beginning to the end if you wish. I have written your yearly report in sections and there are different ways you can utilize this report throughout the year. Part 1 looks at the major trends for your sun sign incorporating the dominant themes from the beginning of 2012 throughout the year. You will also find links to various articles (they look like this Link) describing some of the planets I mention in your report - read them as you go through, or come back to them later. They will give you a better idea about what I have based your report on, and give you a deeper insight into the planets. The summary section (Part 2) breaks down your themes for the year into 3 main areas - love and relationships, money and finance and career and status - You can get a better idea about what to expect in each of these particular areas of your life by reading this section. Part 3 covers the effects of the main planetary movements as they move from one sign to another (technically termed ingresses) and eclipses on your sign in 2012. I have focussed on Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter who all move into different signs this year. The eclipse section highlights the potential affects of the eclipse for your sun sign. (You can also refer to the calendars in part 4 to get a clearer idea about the timing of these events throughout the year.)

Part 4 contains the moon calendar highlighting 4 phases of the moon each month with corresponding dates, signs and degrees. Each phase is significant depending on what sign it is in and I take this into account when I write your monthly astrology report and overview on AstroArtisan. You will also find the eclipses highlighted on the moon calendar. The direct, station and retrograde calendar shows times when Mercury, Venus and Mars are moving backwards and forwards and the point they stop (station) in between. (There is an explanation of the different phases of these movements in this section) Again, these will all have bearing on us in some way and I have focussed on these particular planets (the personal planets) - as their motion is likely to have a big impact. The final page in your report is your 2012 Life and Living Inspiration Card. This was written for your sign and encompasses the energy and themes for you in 2012. Sagittarius - The Transition

As effervescent as you are, there is actually a very deep side to Sagittarius. Some may only see the big talker and the grand philosopher, but beneath the initial impression people have, you are always probing. Sometimes you are unaware of where your thoughts and visions come from and how you know certain things. 2012 (and actually beyond this date) is about self discovery for you in a lot of ways and there is a focus on establishing what you are worth and how you can bring about a more rounded sense of what you have to offer. It is not just about material aspects of worth (though that is certainly part of it) This goes a little deeper.

Sagittarius in 2012

This ongoing process will be part of your life for a while and you will find that, through exploring your values, you will be challenged to incorporate this into your creative expression. As you begin to define what it is you have to offer, you may well start to see how this impacts upon what you choose to do in other areas of your life. Although this may feel a little strange initially, it will become second nature to you over time and you are unearthing a side of yourself that you may not have given expression before. There is a connection to your changing values regarding your finances, and if you have wanted to be a little more autonomous as you make decisions about how you will support yourself and actually what you would like to achieve, 2012 is a fantastic year to start laying the ground work.

Your boundless enthusiasm and optimism for life is so contagious Sagittarius that people just love to be around you. In some ways you are always able to find the joy in everything and some may describe you as a glass half full person. Your ability to see the bigger picture can mean that the annoying little things in life completely escape you, but you are the grand philosopher and teacher, so most of the time you are forgiven for not wanting to deal with the annoying and bothersome details that life sometimes requires. Besides, who would we have to give us the grand visions and cultural commentaries if you were wrapped up in the details? You are often so inspiring that people around you (perhaps with more earthy characteristics) are willing to pick up on the smaller things as they stand in awe at your ability to see the big picture. You are quite lucky that way Sagittariusbesides, there is a part of you that intuits the minutiae before anyone else and whilst most of us are running around fussing and gathering the details and the facts, you are light years ahead wondering what all the fuss is about when it all seems so obvious to you.

Sagittarius - Traveller and Purveyor of all things Cultural

Honest (some may say to the point of being tactless depending on how sensitive they are, but I dont think this is the case) and upfront, if people really want a true opinion, you will be there to give it to them no holds barred!! You may enjoy reading books about far away places and lands and gaining insight into different philosophies, travelling and experiencing different cultures. This year youre in for some interesting changes. If you have started to take a long hard look at what you have to offer the world and what the world has to offer you, youll see that there may have been some significant changes here. This has been a theme over the last few years, but will be very pressing in 2012. What you thought you valued in the past has been an on going internal debate for you since 2008. You will find that 2012 starts to pull this into sharper focus due to the 2 planets I mentioned in the introduction having quite a substantial impact on this area of you life. The first one of those planets being Pluto.

Pluto the DemoteD Planet - Still making a Big imPact Pluto is the slowest moving planet and takes 248 years to complete a circle around the zodiac. You may have heard that Pluto recently got demoted and lost its planetary status, but this makes no difference to the overhauling and transformative effect this planet has when we look at astrology cycles. Pluto transforms and it transforms because it digs. Whatever area of your life Pluto affects is in for an overhaul period. Unlike Uranus, which tends to work in a sporadic, chaotic, lightening flash way, Pluto takes its time, is thorough and leaves no stone unturned. This planet uproots, unearths and through this process shifts our foundations from the core. This is the transforming effect of Pluto.

Last year you may have discovered that you found your worth through the service you offered or through the relationships you built at work, and this will continue through most of 2012. At the same time, if you are feeling hemmed in, or you feel that maintaining your current level of living is stifling your creativity; the challenge will be to find a way to integrate the two. As you begin this balancing act, its possible that you will be taking quite a structured approach in working out how to achieve that sense of security you are after. This shouldnt be too difficult for you to achieve, however there may be a feeling behind all of this that your individual forms of expression are trying to burst free. The tense aspect I spoke about at the beginning of your report links your new found sense of worth with your creative expression.

The Value in Creativity

Creative expression encompasses romance, children and general playtime activities. You may have found a new lease in life in these areas and there could be some surprises and sudden realisations regarding your new approach. This is an out of the ordinary influence and you will find that what you previously found fun and exciting no longer feels relevant for you anymore. You may have a different way of approaching your partner and your ideas around spending time together and enjoying each others company may be up for review. If you have found yourself doing out of the ordinary activities and trying things you never thought you would do before, this is all quite exciting and Uranus is potentially impacting on this 'out of the ordinary influence' in this area of your life.

uranuS Uranus is one of what we call the outer planets. These planets pack a hefty punch wherever they are in our chart - they are the transformers, up heavers, movers and shakers on a grand scale. I like to call them the planets that can move a mountain as they have the potential of bringing big change and energy shifts when they impact our charts. Out of all the outer planets, Uranus is the most unpredictable, quirky, strange and electric. Whenever I think about Uranus, I think about the shape and mechanism of this planet and how it operates in our solar system. Uranus is the only planet in the solar system we know about that tilts on a weird axis. Uranus topsy-turvy orbit really describes how this planet works in astrology. So think about a weird and wonderful, upside down and unexpected energy affecting your life and well, anything is possible and anything can happen. Uranus is adding a little spark to your creativity and ultimately, this is an enlivening process for you. You are a natural explorer and Uranus gives you an innovative edge and the ability to strike out and do things very differently. If you have been used to expressing yourself in a certain way, this is going to change (if it hasnt already) and could come up in a number of ways. Perhaps you will try new and exciting creative projects. Children could come into your life suddenly giving you a whole new outlook. You may be quite creative and different in the way you date and wine and dine someone. You may take up a hobby and do something new and/or a little different, finding yourself taking up one thing and dropping it for another. This is all very exciting and as you like to be kept on your toes, this influence will really suits your temperament; however you may find that all these new sparks of creativity and fun are in some way making it difficult for you to get to grips with your ability to define who you are. It could almost feel like you may need to be serious on one hand, but on the other you have a desire to break free and do things a little differently. Finding the balance between the two throughout the year may prove exciting. And challenging, but the potential to merge the 2 could find you becoming quite a creative force to be reckoned with.

Home Hearth and Dreams

If you have found yourself thinking more about your home, either how to make it a place where you can retreat from the world, or moving to more peaceful surroundings that perhaps reflect your contemplative nature; 2012 is likely to bring changes here. The emphasis may lie in building or creating your ideal resting place, whether this is a literal base or the place you retreat to in your mind away from the public eye. Perhaps you will build on a combination of both. Sagittarius, you do like to be out and about exploring, gaining insight into other worlds and sharing what you know and sometimes you can forget how important it is to establish a solid base which you can retreat to. This will be an important part of your life over the next 14 years and you may find yourself seeking solace away from prying eyes. Neptune in Pisces from February 2012 highlights the importance of creating a haven. There is also the possibility of having unrealistic expectations or perhaps drifting for a little while, unsure of where you want to settle. Over the next 2 years you will start to ground your expectations building on some solid structures in order for you to realise your visions.

nePtune This planet in astrology is associated with higher visions, dreams, fantasy, illusion and all things mystical and unseen. Neptune settles into Pisces this year for 14 years and this is where Neptune operates best as this planet rules the sign of Pisces. Neptune is diffuse and difficult to grasp, but if you are naturally inclined towards non-linear perspectives, then Neptune in Pisces is likely to be an energy that will be a joy to work with. In some ways, this planet acted a little out of character when it was in the sign of Aquarius as the 2 have quite different agendas and ways of operating. With Neptune back in its honourable and rightful place from February 2012, we could see themes regarding compassion, idealism, romance, understanding, equality and tolerance becoming prevalent in our lives. You may have begun to see how much of a difference having a place you can call home can make to your overall sense of well being, although you may not need a mansion, you will be seeking an oasis of calm amidst the madness. You may find that you start to put plans into action at the beginning of the year, or at the very least youll think of ways to make something you have dreamed about a reality and its very possible that by the end of the year you will see these plans come into fruition. This will have a really positive impact, and you may find that you are a lot more confident and stable. Home for a lot of people is where the heart is Sagittarius, and if you have experienced your fair share of disruptions in the home - either because you have had to move, or were not too sure where to build you base, 2012 is the year when the possibility of finding your dream castle may come true. From mid 2011, you have become quite organised, and you may have found that your work life and your relationship with your colleagues got a boost. This trend continues in 2012. There is a possibility in gaining in this area of your life and its likely that you will be optimistic with the added benefit that your routines and structures are working in harmony. This means that, not only do people appreciate what you have to offer, but you are also effective on your job and life in general. All things considered, you will feel very much part of a team and your ability to help, support and assist gives you a deep sense of satisfaction throughout most of the year.

True Friends

You are currently in a phase (and have been for the last couple of years) where you are seeing who your true friends are and who you can rely on to support you. You may have found that you were a lot more discerning in who you associated with, or you perhaps begun to associate with friends who had a slightly serious outlook, (very different from your usual set of comrades). Its possible that you joined a group which had a strong, definitive and serious mission, and you probably learnt a lot from these people. If you have felt surrounded and supported by rock solid support, you may have come to a realisation regarding how important your friendships were. In some respects, this reflected your ideals and you may have found yourself getting a lot more serious about what you wanted to achieve and importantly, who you wanted to achieve this with. It is at times like these that good friends and a solid support system are important. Your chosen associations may have gone through a maturation process recently which has made you look at you own life in more serious terms. However you relate to your friends, you have come to see them very differently and although this has taken some time to get used to, you should find in 2012, you will continue to make friends with serious minded people who have the potential to make a positive impact on you. Saturn is helping you define what it is you bring to a group and how you function within that group.

Saturn Father time Saturn is the planet associated with restrictions, lessons and time. It also lends structure and discipline to the area of our chart it impacts. This planet is a bit like Father Time and can bring a feeling of delays and hold ups. Whichever area Saturn is impacting gives us the effect that everything has slowed down. The positive side of Saturn is that it stabilises, as well as teaches us patience through what can seem like a long and arduous climb. Although the impact of this planet feels frustrating, in the long run we may find that we take a more structured approach to the area it impacts. Saturn is also associated with the wisdom and patience of maturity.

Saturn will be influencing your friendships for a major part of the year until October. After this point, you will have the opportunity to get really serious about your life and whilst this may not show on the surface and you will appear to be your usual bubbly effervescent self, there is an element of seriousness that will affect your actions. This isnt such as bad thing as you are determined to get some structure and order in your life. At the same time, part of the structuring going on in the back of your mind will drive you to create firm foundations and this really does support you if you are thinking of settling somewhere or simply becoming more focussed, you may find you feel a little more determined, and will probably begin to build

structures without thinking too hard about it. You will want to establish firm foundations, and this would be the perfect time for you to do this. In 2012 you begin to realise that in order to create you dream home, (internally or externally) there is an element of mental planning and preparation involved. Last year, if you felt an overall satisfaction regarding your relationship with your colleagues or maybe just feeling optimistic about life in general this will continue (and if you are yet to experience this, 2012 should see you feeling a little more hopeful in this area of your life). You may have had wonderful opportunities to build on some structure involving your day to day organisation and this will continue to add a little spring in your step. If you have started to enjoy the work you do (and actually expanded on how you do that work) this is Jupiters influence affecting this area of your life.

JuPiter Jupiters expansion can bring rewards and inflates whatever it touches. Jupiter is seen as the luck planet by some as it tends to harness positivity and bring happy fortuitous circumstances into our lives. Jupiter inflates whatever it touches think largesse and growth and we have a good idea about the potentials of this planet. It has been said that Jupiter in a certain area of our charts can even literally expand our waistlines!! Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and has an immense gravity field that deflects comets from hitting the earth giving us a certain amount of protection. There is also an element of protection associated with Jupiter in astrology.

2012 Considerations for Sagittarius

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so this planet holds some importance for you. Jupiter will continue to travel through Taurus until mid 2012, giving you some much needed grounding in relation to your working environment. Life will continue to tick along nicely in this respect and from mid 2012; Jupiter will be opposing your sign highlighting the relationships in your life. There are opportunities and challenges here and there may be an element of relying on other peoples input in key areas of your life. Love and relationships

Sagittarius, love or romance can come from the most unexpected places in the most unexpected ways! So if you are currently looking, prepared to be surprised. Ok well if you were prepared, it wouldnt be that much of a surprise, but someone could potentially turn up out the blue! You could meet this person whilst you are undertaking one of your new creative pursuits. If you are partnered up, life with your significant other becomes a little more exciting, and you may find yourselves taking a detour off the beaten track with this person. By mid year, its very possible that you will start to think of yourself more in terms of you and another and begin to see that the other person in your life enriches your experiences. Single Sagittarians may find that they are spoilt for choice in 2012 and you start to wonder where all these people who suddenly turn up have been hiding. This is such an exciting year for you in this respect, and if you did meet someone special in the last 18 months, this is likely to grow.

Money and Finances

As you become a lot more determined to take control of your finances and establish a steady stream of income, there may have been a pressing need for you to become more independent. Whether you would like set up your own business, or do a little something else on the side that brings in some extra cash, you will want to be free from the concept of relying on other peoples money to survive and this theme will continue for a while. You may have started to see opportunities coming your way that allow you to work independently last year. You also find this year, that your financial situation hits a peak as you become more determined to set some structures in place. As you potentially become more ambitious and get a little more serious about money you will see some interesting changes here. 2012 links this with your creativity. Creativity is not confined to artists, this is really about anything that you put together that expresses a part of who you are. Finding an appropriate outlet for this will be of great benefit for you and you will find that this potentially affects your earning power.

work and Career

Most Sagittarians like variety in their work life. While its possible that you may have spent some of 2011 rising the ranks of whatever profession you are in, you may have also changed direction and or perhaps broadened your horizons. As your ideas about yourself and your material value start to change, the choices you make in relation to what you do to make a living also change and this year, you start to redefine what it is you want to do with your life. The emphasis in on your home and whilst this doesnt mean that you place your career on the back burner, your priorities have taken a significant shift. You will want to focus on matters closer to your heart rather than taking the world by storm and this is reflected in your changing values. Some Sagittarians wanderlust may become more grounded and this will in turn affect how you view your job and the work you choose to do. If in previous years you were not too concerned with security, you may find that this is actually something that becomes quite important to you.

outer PlanetS changing SignS anD ecliPSeS 2012 Neptune moves into Pisces 3 Feb 2012 Saturn moves into Scorpio 5 Oct 2012 Jupiter moves into Gemini 11 June 2012 Planets changing signs mark important points in their cycles and change the flow of energy, moving us in a different direction. The personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, and the moon and sun move fairly quickly in comparison with the outer planets, so the quicker moving planets show the ebb and flow of our daily lives whilst they make different aspects in the chart. The outer planets changing signs are indicative of significant shifts and trends that can last many years. Last year, Neptune went into Pisces for the first time in 164 years and went back into Aquarius at the end of 2011. From February, Neptune will stay in Pisces for 14 years. Jupiter went into Taurus mid 2011 (where it will remain until June 2012) and will move into Gemini, and Uranus continued its stay in Aries and will be there for the next 7 years. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008 and will stay there for 13 years. Saturn has been in Libra since October 2009 and will move into Scorpio in October 2012. All these changes are significant and affect us all individually.

neptune will influence your ideas about home and I wrote about this influence earlier on in your report. You may find that your ideas regarding security and what makes you feel secure now become a lot more idealistic. If you were happy to call home wherever you happened to lay your hat, this may not be satisfying to you anymore. You will perhaps crave and create a tranquil environment which reflects your need for peace. This could be as simple as redecorating your current living space so it is more in tune with your own personal tastes. As this becomes more and more important to you, this may take on a deeper hue and you will perhaps turn more inwards, examining yourself and what makes you feel peaceful at the core of your being. Try not to get too carried away with this and though there are some slight contradictions in terms of your usual outgoing nature you will possibly find that by going inwards you are able to find a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you than you have felt before. Saturn You may find that life takes on a more serious tone. Not to say that you wont still be out having fun, but you may begin to have an impending feeling that time is ticking and that there is a lot for you to do. This is likely to impact on your work relationships in a positive way as people you have associated with reflect your deepening attitude to your ideals. There is very much a group influence at work and this group could be fairly determined in what they do. By the end of the year, you find that you enter into a deep reflective state, examining your aims and determining how you wish to develop and hone yourself. This is a long term influence and you may find yourself feeling a lot more serious than you have in recent years. This will in turn reflect your changing inner values and although youre not likely to retreat from the world completely, you probably find that you are spending more time in contemplation and/or harmonising your environment to suit your serious outlook.

Jupiters influence affects your intimate relationships from June 2012. You begin to see that your relationships are the area in your life that brings you the most joy. There is the potential to meet yourself in another person and there are themes regarding compatibility and differences that you are likely to learn something from. It may be the case that you take a back seat in your relationships for a while, or you meet people who are happy to take the lead in some way. There is an element of growth here, either you will observe a new perspective from outside of yourself, or you will find yourself in the role of advising a significant other. You may come to the conclusion that this is a 2 way street and you are embarking on a journey where you are able to learn from another person as equally as they are able to learn from you.

Mars retrogrades every 2.5 years and can bring about a time we are being pulled back a little in our efforts. Mars is active and associated with warrior type energies. It is what drives and fuels us to take action, so when it is retrograde we may be a little reticent in going forward. Mars usually spends just over a month in each sign, however Mars will spend 8 months travelling through Virgo. Rather than going full speed ahead, this Mars retrograde may pull you back. Outwards energies become inverted. You may find yourself retracing your steps regarding you career during this phase and you can use this time to reflect on what you would like to achieve and how you will go about achieving it. This is not be the best time to make any brand new moves or initiate any new projects, unless perhaps they are linked with the past in some way. You may find yourself reinventing or reinstating an old idea that you have had. Once Mars turns direct, you will be feeling exceptionally driven and its likely that you reach a point where you can take what you have learnt during the retrograde phase and run with it.

Venus retrograde

Venus will also retrograde this year in Gemini. Venus retrogrades mark a time when we rethink our relations. Venus is also associated with beauty, cosmetics, fine tailoring and anything aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. During the retrograde phase, its advisable not to go for any cosmetic treatments, get a new hair cut or buy anything that you think may suit you. There is the potential to look at it after the retrograde and not like what you see. If you do find yourself going over old ground, especially in relation to your love life, this is a good time to do so. We can use a Venus retrograde to reflect on what we find beautiful and how we conduct the relationships in our lives. Venus will also retrograde this year in Gemini your opposite sign, so matters regarding relationships may be brought into focus. You may find yourself going back to a past situation, or even dealing with past issues and focussing on the details of your relationship. This is perhaps the best time to talk things through and as Venus moves forward again, you will find that any glitches and misunderstandings that occurred during this phase are cleared up.

Mercury retrograde

I always make note of Mercury retrogrades. Its usual to find that communications go a little haywire during these times. Eclipses mark turning points in our lives, they also show beginnings, endings and potential changes in direction. The eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius bring everyones focus to communications, from local to global level. The eclipses in May, June and late November occur in your sign and your opposite sign, so you may feel the effects of these eclipses quite strongly. There are possible changes brought by these eclipses to your presentation and the way you communicate and disseminate those changes may go through a change. The focus here is in how you present yourself to significant people in your life, and you may find that you do an about turn in relation to your current image. The Mid November eclipse in Scorpio may point to a change to your routines and/or find you wanting to take the back seat for a while. There may be a urge to retreat or something may come up that means you will be required to stop, take stock and restructure in some way, moving your life in a different direction. Eclipses affect us all in different ways, and their effect is dependent on varying factors in our individual chart, however we can look at the themes and position of an eclipse to get an idea about how this may impact you in 2012.

All planets station, direct and retrograde throughout the year. The personal planets Mercury, Venus and Mars have been illustrated in the calendars on the next pages. Pre-retrograde (shadow period) The pre retrograde phase (or shadow) marks a time when we begin to slow down. We may feel the tug of the planets energy as it prepares to go retrograde. This period allows us to gradually ease into the retrograde phase. Station Retrograde We can think of the station as a tipping point this is where the planet stops before it goes retrograde. If we think about standing on a ledge as we are about to tip over, the moment before we fall is perhaps the most tense and this is the feeling we may have at the stationary point. Retrograde The planet is now moving backwards (or we have the illusion of this motion from our positioning on earth) and this is usually a time where we go back to something or work in a different way with the planets energy. Station Direct The planet stops again in preparation to move forward after this point the planet is in direct motion. Post retrograde This period (also called a shadow) eases us out of the retrograde phase as we slowly gather momentum The energy may still be a little diffuse until we move past this phase. Perhaps look at the calendars, note the planets motions and see if you can feel the effects as we go through each phase.
