Faithful Fourth Graders

CAJ: Equipping students to impact the world for Christ


Language Arts:
This weeks spelling words have long u and oo sound: rescue, view, move, due, proof, true, fruit, crew, juice, stoop, bruise, group, smooth, value, and issue. We will begin a whole class guided reading with A Taste of Blackberries. Students will practice taking notes and participating in discussions. Most of the reading will be done in class.

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Units:
This week students will work in groups on the industry they chose. In this activity they will brainstorm how different companies and jobs are involved in their industries.

Math:
This week students will learn to see polygons in terms of properties. Students will also learn to construct an inscribed square, concentric circles, and other circle constructions. Some of the terms to be introduced are: parallel, perpendicular, radius, center of the circle, diameter, concentric circles, and convex/concave polygons.

This week we will review the Book of Philippians in preparation for the test through various activities: answering questions in the study guide, paired review, and class jeopardy.
