A Common Tension in Scripture We are not saved by our good deeds For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8 (see also Romans 3:21-31) Good deeds are required By this gospel you are saved, __IF___ you hold firmly to the word I preached to you.
