Students will use educational technology to: Critically assess information and understanding Communicate purposefully Collaborate with others Construct knowledge Continuously Learn anytime, anywhere, anyhow Control your personal information and safety Learn and practice digital citizenship Activities that are inappropriate for students or staff in CBE schools: Cyber-bullying behaviours such as using inappropriate language, harassing others, etc. Being rough with or damaging our educational technology Allowing others to know your passwords Wasting educational technology on non-educational activities such as: o Playing games o Participating in non-teacher-approved social networking o Excessive or inappropriate printing without teacher permission Violation of the CBE Policy Each situation is dealt with on an individual basis and a breach of this policy may result in: Restriction or loss of educational technology privileges; School-based disciplinary consequences; and/or Police intervention and/or legal action
