The researcher focuses on the belief that surrounds the relationship between teachers characteristics and student achievement

in science subject which considers teachers attitude as a vocal point to the optimal performance and enhancement of the teaching-learning process. The achievement of students in science subject is as a result of their relationship with their teachers based on their attitudes and how their attitudes influence the students achievement in science subject. The out come of which is the achievement is often regressive and the ability of teachers to meet the need of students in science subject in their classes is bedded in the teachers curriculum which is often exhausted during their training. Some of the teachers characteristics are; their teaching method, classroom management, empathy, may influence student achievement either negatively or positively. The negative attitude of teachers maybe to push student into frustration which will lead to inferiority complex which makes the student not to enjoy classroom interaction with a good conscience. Furthermore, the negative attitude of teachers makes student to feel afraid to expose themselves. The students also develop negative impressions towards their studies especially in their science subject. To some student, it is the teachers attitude that attracts student toward their teachers which lead to a negative or positive outcome in the teaching and learning process. Teachers with positive characteristics will tend to have better achievement of student in their science subject. All this raise question in my mind and motivated me to carryout this study and to find out how far the relationship between teachers characteristics on science subject affect student academic performance or achievement in science subject in secondary schools.
