FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TENNIS WINS REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP Queens Mens Tennis Goes Undefeated to Win Championship The Queens University of Charlotte mens tennis team finished their season undefeated last week after beating Limestone College in the final match of the regular season. Both teams came into the final game of the year undefeated and this match was crucial for both seeding in the conference tournament and for an exemption into the regional finals. Rahil Dhruva finished the regular season undefeated at the fourth singles position, and picked up a crucial point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. They needed every last point as the match came down to the final player, Gustavo Munhoz. He won his match 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 and that was the final point needed to clinch the championship. This was the first conference championship won by the Queens University of Charlotte mens tennis team. Moving onto the conference championship is important, but a bye into the hard to reach regional playoffs was what kept the players attention. It was great to see the team come through in a big game and win, said Christian Lee-Daigle, a junior on the team and the number one player. Last year we felt we were better than we finished, so we just wanted to play better in the tough matches this year. Christian won his match 7-5, 6-1. The mens team will only be graduating one player this year, so they hope to be just as strong next year with a fresh recruiting class. Queens University of Charlotte Mens Tennis plays their matches in Conference Carolina.
