Belaying Methods

Self-belay: This is necessary when you work at a place more than two meters high, in order to avoid falling down. Connect a rope between yourself and an object. Use a safety belt and lifeline.

Body belay

Shoulder belay: Pass a rope on the tensed side under one shoulder, turn it around the back, and put it on the other shoulder. Move your foot on the tensed side forward.

Waist belay: Wind a rope around your waist in the same fashion as a shoulder belay. Standing belay

Sitting belay

Object belay Frictional resistance can belay a heavier person. Moreover, using a tree or column at the site makes it possible to change the rope pulling direction.
