Kaspersky Lab vs. BitDefender

Kaspersky Lab has better detection and protection rates according to independent testing labs: Anti-Malware Test Lab (www.anti-malware-test.com): Kaspersky Lab was the only vendor to receive the Gold award in all 7 testing categories. BitDefender failed four of the seven tests and received a Gold Award in only one category. In the Zero-Day Protection testing, Kaspersky Lab received a Gold Award with a 92% success rate. BitDefender failed the Zero-Day Protection testing. AV Comparatives (www.av-comparatives.org): December 2009 Report, we received an Advanced+ rating for total threats blocked, scoring 99 out of 100. BitDefender received only an Advanced rating, blocking only 91 out of 100 threats. Dovember 2009 Report, we received an Advanced+ rating for Proactive Detection, scoring more than 11% higher than BitDefender. October 2009 Report, we received an Advanced+ rating for malware removal. Virus Bulletin (www.virusbtn.com/vb100): In the December 2009 Report, Kaspersky Lab received the VB100 Award for the seventh time, scoring higher detection rates in than BitDefender. Kaspersky Lab received a RAP score of 83.4% to BitDefenders score of 79.52%. West Coast Labs (www.westcoastlabs.com): Kaspersky Lab was one of four vendors to receive the Checkmark Platinum Award. BitDefender was tested but did not receive this award.
