Collisions are very common among daily life. The collision between 2 objects will produce impact.

For example, two vehicles carrying passengers, if collided with each other, provided the collision is strong enough, might cause serious injuries to the passengers in it, or if worse, might even cause death. The collisions as such are quite inevitable even though various safety precautions have been taken. However, the effects of the impact caused by the collision can be reduced by implementing suitable impact absorbing surfaces. There are many impact absorbing surfaces that has been produced, and the key to produce a good impact absorbing surface is the material used. One of the suitable materials that can be used to produce impact absorbing surfaces is fibers, and one of the fibers that is strongly considered is Kenaf fiber. In this research, we are going to use kenaf fiber as a sandwich composite. The kenaf fiber will be in different rule of mixture. The different rule of mixture on Kenaf fiber mean the method of approach to approximation estimation of composite material properties based on assumption that a composite property is the volume weighted average of the phases properties [3]. From this, the best rule of mixture will be choose as a good impact absorbing surface in this reseach.
