The RTS (Resolve Through Sharing) Perinatal Bereavement Education Program combines insight, knowledge and hands-on practical experience with the skills necessary to interact with families experiencing perinatal loss at all gestations, with special validation of early loss issues. The program was developed through the Gunderson Lutheran Medical Foundation in Wisconsin and is now taught worldwide. It is taught by trained RTS Bereavement Services Coordinators through Pregnancy & Infant Loss Network (PAIL) - formerly known as Perinatal Bereavement Services Ontario (PBSO). PAIL Network is a non-profit charity that: Provides bereavement support to families who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, medical termination, stillbirth or neonatal death, undertakes educational programs for professionals and the public

RTS Bereavement Support Education will help you learn the skills based on grief theory to help grieving families in all these situations and will provide knowledge and guidance to hospitals that will assist them in meeting the current accreditation standards related to palliative and bereavement care.

I had no idea the long term effects of the death of a baby. I guess I thought it was a sad thing but not one that affected the rest of their lives. (Social Worker) I am going back to my hospital and change the way miscarriage patients are treated. I am horrified at the pain we have caused because we just didn't know. (Day Surgery RN) I learned how to be supportive even within the constraints of my job. (U/S tech) It was so helpful to hear directly from parents what helped them and embarrassing to hear some of the hurtful things we say and do that we thought were helping. (Chaplain) I realized how powerful we caregivers are to change the experience of bereaved parents. (L&D RN)
