    S. Arjun conducted field research for his 4th progress report on the Indian tyre industry. He met with senior managers at MRF Tyres Ltd. in Chennai to collect statistical data on tyre production in India from 1997-1998 to 2010-2011. He obtained information on the total production and production by segment. He also met with the corporate manager of exports and collected data on category-wise tyre exports from 2003-2004 to 2010-2011 and export value from 1999-2000 to 2009-2010. This data will be used in his report on the exports aspect of the Indian tyre industry.
