Bringing of deadly weapons, cameras, recorders, cell phones, other radio equipment or communication device, or any other electronic device is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. 6. You are required to come early. Gates open at 5:00 A.M. and 12:00 NN on examination days and close 30 minutes before the next exam. After the gates close, no one will be allowed to enter without permission from the Chair. Examinees assigned to take the examination at St. Martin de Porres Building (Medicine Building) and St. Raymonds Building (AB/Commerce Building) may enter the campus only through Gates 2 or 3 along Espaa Boulevard. Examinees assigned to take the examination at the Benavides Building (Pay High School Building) and the Main Building may enter the campus only through Gate 4, also along Espaa Boulevard. See Annex A. Upon entering, submit yourself for inspection and deposit all electronic gadgets to the security personnel assigned at the entrance. 7. Upon arrival at the examination compound in the morning of each examination day, consult the bulletin boards along the ground corridors and on the floor to which you are assigned for your room assignment. 8. For an easy and orderly location of your assigned building and room, you are required to wear your color-coded ID at all times. When you arrive at the examination area, you are required to proceed to your room assignment and not to wander around. 9. Only light snacks, which the examinees may take in the course of the examination, shall be allowed inside the examination rooms. Eating lunch is allowed only at the Quadricentennial Park located at the back of the Main Building, on park benches, the gazebo area inside the Main Building, and inside the canteens located in the Benavides and St. Martin de Porres Buildings. Examinees may also take their lunch outside the campus but must return before the gates close, i.e. 30 minutes before the next exam. 10. You will be allowed to enter your room before the start of the examination upon submission of your Notice of Admission to the headwatcher, but you have to conduct yourself properly and avoid loud discussions and conversations. Attend to your personal needs before the FIRST BELL (7:30 A.M., 1:00 P.M. or 1:30 P.M., as indicated above). 11. At the sound of the FIRST BELL, no examinee will be allowed to leave the room. All books and notes should then be placed in front of the room. An examinee will be considered cheating if caught with notes or codigos during the examination.

Instructions for the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) Portion: 1. Write your name and signature on the MCQ ANSWER SHEET using a sign pen or fountain pen. Then, with a No. 2 pencil, write your B.E. Number in the boxes provided and shade the circles corresponding to your B.E. Number. Study ANNEX B for Marking Instructions. NOTE: The scanning machine cannot read improperly shaded numbers or numbers not shaded with a No. 2 pencil. Also, shading the wrong B.E. Numbers may result in your scores not being credited to you. So please be careful when filling up the answer sheet. 2. Make sure the answer sheet you have is for the correct exam, i.e., Mercantile Law answer sheet for the Mercantile Law exam, Criminal Law answer sheet for the Criminal Law exam, etc. 3. Before the SECOND BELL, and with the questionnaire facing down, check if your questionnaire has the correct number of pages. 4. Begin answering only at the sound of the SECOND BELL (8:00 A.M., 1:30 P.M. or 2:00 P.M. as indicated above). Indicate your answer by shading completely the appropriate circle corresponding to the letter you have chosen. (Refer to the marking instructions in Annex B.) 5. Avoid erasures on the answer sheet. If you need to make corrections, erase completely the answer you want to change. 6. Do not explain your answers in the MCQ portion of the exam. You will not earn any credit for that. 7. Keep the answer sheet clean. Do not make any unnecessary marks on it. Do not fold, roll, scratch, crumple or tear it. 8. You may write on the questionnaire and use it as scratch paper but make sure to transfer your answer to the answer sheet. Provide ample time to transfer the answers if you choose to do this. 9. Budget your time. For the major subjects, you will have 2 hours to answer 100 MCQs and another 2 hours for the 10 essay questions. For the minor subjects, except legal ethics, you will have 1 hours to answer 75 MCQs and another 1 hours for the 10 essay questions. The last exam (legal ethics and practical exercises) will consist of 50 MCQs and the trial memorandum writing test. It will last for 3 hours. NOTE: The exam is designed so that the MCQ portion will be answerable within half of the total allotted time, i.e., within 2 hours for the major subjects and 1 hours for the minor subjects. The MCQ portion for the legal ethics exam, however, is designed to be answerable within 1 hour. 10. Answer first the MCQ portion completely before going to the essay portion.

Instructions for the Essay Portion: 1. A name card will be given to you at the sound of the FIRST BELL. (See ANNEX C). Accomplish the name card strictly in the following manner and order: a. PRINT your complete name as follows: family name, given name, and middle name on the first line. b. Affix your CUSTOMARY SIGNATURE on the second line.

c. INDICATE THE SCHOOL where you obtained your law degree at the bottom of the card. d. Affix your RIGHT THUMBMARK on the space provided. e. INSERT the name card into the envelope, which is attached to the examination notebook after the headwatcher has signed the back of the card. f. Ask the headwatcher to SEAL the envelope. 2. Only sign pens and fountain pens in permanent blue, blue-black or black ink should be used in writing your answers to the essay questions. Variation in the color of ink and the style of your handwriting should be avoided. 3. Write your answers legibly and avoid erasures. If you make a mistake and wish to erase anything, simply draw a line across the word or words you want to change. DO NOT ERASE OR TEAR OFF ANY PAGE OF THE NOTEBOOK. DO NOT WRITE YOUR NAME IN THE NOTEBOOK OR MAKE ANY UNNECESSARY MARKING OR USE ANY IMPERTINENT EXPRESSION which may be construed as a means of identifying your notebook. Names of persons should be represented by letters of the alphabet such as A, B, C, etc. unless particular names are called for. 4. Write your answers on one side of the paper only: on the face and not on the back page. In case all the front pages have been consumed, you may use the back pages commencing on the first leaf and so on. 5. 6. The THIRD BELL signals that only 5 minutes are left before the end of the examination. When you finish answering or at the sound of the FOURTH BELL (12:00 noon or 5:00 p.m. as the case may be) submit your notebook and your answer sheet. There is no need to return the questionnaire to the headwatcher. After every examination and before leaving the room, ask for your Notice of Admission from the headwatcher, who shall accomplish the certification at the back. Your Notice of Admission will be retained by the headwatcher at the end of the last examination (Legal Ethics and Practical Exercises). Other matters: 1. If at any time you start feeling sick, immediately inform your room watcher for proper treatment or medication. 2. Cigarettes, liquor and styrofoam are STRICTLY PROHIBITED anywhere within the campus. 3. Examinees are not allowed to bring their vehicles inside the campus or park within the campus.
