C O N C L U S I O N

Cancer may spell death to some and mutilation to others. The legends surrounding cancer (malignant disease) often focus on incurability; helps foster feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness. Nurses may have the same attitudes that exist in the society. Therefore, it is imperative for nurses to examine their own feelings and try to work them through, both by increasing their knowledge of the disease and its treatment and by discussing feelings openly with the members of the health team. These will enable the nurse to help their clients and families. In the case of patient X, the prognosis of this disease is unlikely to guarantee complete recovery since the current condition of the patient is at its worst. From the admission of the patient down to the termination of care, health team especially the nurses in the acute care setting followed the same nursing process which serves as their guide to adhere to the standards of maintaining health and prolonging life. Palliative care, which provides physical, emotional, and spiritual relief, must be provided with attempts for curative therapy and becomes the exclusive goal when cure cannot be expected at all stages of breast cancer, treatment needs to be modified for life expectancy. The risk of developing most types of cancer can be reduced by changes in a person's lifestyle, for example, by quitting smoking and eating a better diet. The sooner a cancer is found and treatment begins, the better are the chances for living for many years. To sum up all of these, while we are young it is vital to keep our body in good shape by conforming to the rules of life - To be healthy and to live right.
