Series: Cheesy Movie Night - These movie nights take advantage of the public domain films available on the Internet Archive as a source of entertainment as well as promote the changing role of libraries as community spaces. It may also serve to bring in new patrons. The cheesy element of these programs is intended to create a fun environment with various activities and can be tailored to fit various movie genres. Goals: 1. Pilot a movie night program series targeting teens. 2. Promote the library as a community gathering place. 3. Promote humorous literature in the YA Fiction collection. Supplies: Copy of Teenagers from Outer Space downloaded from the Internet Archive. Serving dishes for make your own popcorn buffet items. Hot air popcorn popper. Set-up: 2 rectangular tables for food and beverages. 1 small table for fiction display. Projector, laptop, and speakers for movie. Multimedia: Wall projection of downloaded movie. Budget: $50 (3 kinds of soda, 12 can packs; popcorn and powdered cheeses) Promotion: Word of mouth to teen patrons. Provide flyers to the Teen Advisory Board for school bulletin boards. Small flyers (approx. 5.5x4.15) at service points and in study rooms. Social media promotion with pictures and YouTube movie trailer. Sample Promotional Piece:
