MOE Foreign English Teachers Project for Taiwans Public Schools

The Ministry of Education (MOE), in an effort to provide a better English learning environment for Taiwanese students in rural areas has announced a project to bring in qualified foreign English teachers to Taiwan for teaching in public elementary and junior high schools. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Required Qualification Is a Native English Speaker Earned a Bachelors degree or above Has a teaching certificate Does not have a criminal record 2. Employment Period: One Academic Year or at least One Semester 3. Remunerations and Other Benefits o Airfare One Economy-Class Round Trip Ticket for Single Two Economy-Class Round Trip Tickets for Family o Housing Allowance/Dormitory NT$ 5,000/month for single NT$ 10,000/month for family o Heath Care Benefits Health Insurance and Labor Insurance o Monthly Salary (Depending on Teaching Experience) Holders of Doctoral Degrees: NT$ 73,025-91,940 Holders of Masters Degrees: NT$ 69,965-86,820 Holders of Bachelors Degree: NT$ 62,720-78,045 o Bonus Teachers, who have taught for 12 months and have an annual performance of a grade of A, are each given an extra months pay as bonus. Those with a performance grade of B are each given a extra months pay as bonus. o Living Costs Total expenses could be as little as NT$ 15,000 for a single; however, it is more realistic to expect NT $20,000-$25,000/month. o Work Week 8 hours a day/40 hours a week, 5 days a week
