My Diary from Here to There was written by Amada Irma Perez and illustrated by Maya Christina Gonzalez.

The genre of the story is realistic-fiction. The theme of the story is how a person can feel and the challenges they face when moving from their hometown to a place they have never been to before. The book is actually based on Perezs family migrating to the United States. The book has won the Pura Belpr Honor Book Award.
