My favorite illustration from the story is the very last in the book.

I love the bright colors used and how they are blended together. This illustration captures Amadas feelings at the end of the story when she realizes how strong she is no matter where she is at and how she will always stay true to her personality and way of being. Gonzalez uses bright vivid colors and is known for her astonishing representation of the Hispanic women. Her art is able to capture the strengths and characteristics of Amada and her family in My Diary from Here to There.
