SIMPLE PRESENT USES

We USE the simple present for: FACTS: I live in Colombia She lives in Madrid

HABITS: I get up at 5 am He gets up at 7 am


SHORT ACTIONS: I look at the watch He looks at the clock.

QUESTIONS
To make questions we need the auxiliaries: DO or DOES We use Do with the 1st and 2nd personal pronouns or the correspondent nouns: I = Me (Tatiana) You = The students They = Leivan and Ferley We = The students and me (Tatiana) We can ask questions about facts, habits or short actions: FACTS: Do you live in England? HABITS: Do they drive to work everyday? Or Do Leivan and Ferley drive to work? SHORT ACTIONS: Do we switch on the computer? Or Do the students and me switch on the computer?

QUESTIONS
We use DOES with the 3rd personal pronouns or the correspondant pronouns: He= Ferley

She = Leivan
It = the cat, the chair. We can ask questions about facts, habits or short actions: FACTS: Does she live in England? Or Does Leivan live in England? HABITS: Does he drive to work everyday? Or Does Ferley drive to work? SHORT ACTIONS: Does it switch on the computer? Or Does the cat switch on the computer? * Notice that when we make questions in 3rd person (he, she, it) we DO NOT add S to the verb= Does he drives to work everyday?
