Second Year St udents of SMP Negeri 1 Bireuen (An Experimental Research). From the title above, the researcher puts the problem of this research with the question namely: Firs t, Can Chain Drill gives a better result to the second year students of SMP Nege ri 1 Bireuen in Speaking skill? Second, Can Chain Drill gives a significant diff erences result to the second year students of SMP Negeri 1Bireuen in speaking sk ill?. Based on the research problems, the purpose of this research is to know te aching speaking through Chain Drill can give a better result to the second year students of SMP Negeri 1 Bireuen in speaking skill. To know teaching speaking th rough Chain Drill can gives a significant differences result to the second year students of SMP Negeri 1Bireuen in speaking skill. To answer question, the resea rcher designed this research as experimental research as methodology of this res earch. Researcher took two classes of the second year students of SMP Negeri 1 B ireuen. They were class VII/B as Experimental Group and class VII/A as Control G roup, both of the group given pre-test and post-test. At the end of the all proc ess, researcher found out the data as shown at the data analysis, there shown th at t-score was 0, 88 and 10, 90 for post-test. It higher than 2, 00, at 0, 05% l evel significant. It means that Ha s accepted and Ho is rejected.
