Julie Mei and I hypothesized that we could do 8 drops of water on a 10 cent coin. We hypothesized this because we did our research and found about cohesion and surface tension which makes it easier for pure water to stick together. Since cohesion is like a magnet it sicks together with our drops of pure water. Have you ever wondered why when you do a belly op it hurts, thats because of surface tension, it basically creates a layer on top of the water o keep it balanced. After, we did all of our experiments the most drops of water we got on our 10 cent coin was 28 drops of pure water. Our hypothesis was way of. When we used the testing liquid we didnt even get up to our hypothesis. Thats when Julie Mei and I found out that if theres something distracting pure water the cohesion and surface tension isnt as strong. At the end we found out that the testing liquid was dishwashing soap. My friend Rachel did research and she found out that dishwashing soap or soap in general takes away surface tension. Because of the chemical inside the dishwashing soap and soap.

Now we know that cohesion and surface tension is more powerful than people think.
