ASTATIC ECHO BOARD

INTRODUCTION: The Astatic Echo Board adds a powerful large room base station effect to an average mobile radio. The board easily mounts inside most radios and with a simple hookup of a few wires, the radio will instantly sound like a loud powerful base station! INSTALLATION: 1. Remove the covers from the unit and make sure the Echo Board will physically fit inside it. Remove an unused control from the radio, or drill a 1/4 hole into the outside case, to mount the Echo Board Control. Mount the Echo Board on the side of the radio so that it clears the radios speaker. 2. Locate and remove the Mic Audio wire from the Mic Gain control, (Center Terminal) and solder the (IN - White) wire to the removed wire. If the radio does not have a Mic Gain Control, follow the instructions in Step 3 for the Microphone Jack. 3. Solder the (OUT - White) wire to the Mic Gain control Center Terminal (Where the wire was removed in Step 2). If the radio does not have a Mic Gain control, then remove the MIC Audio wire from the Mic Jack. Solder the (IN - White) wire to the Mic Jack - Solder the (OUT - White) to the wire you removed from the Mic Jack. Tape all wire connections to protect them from shorts! 4. Solder the Echo Boards Brown (+) Wire to the Switched side of the On/Off Power Switch. (+13.8 VDC) Solder the Boards Black Wire to Circuit Board Ground. Solder the small shields from the IN and OUT wires together and back to Circuit Board Ground. An extra wire may be required to lengthen the Ground connection.
