Im the center point of the cell, this is where it all begins.This is my friend Mr. Ribosome. He has a small subunit at the bottom, and a big subunit at the top. He starts out as RNA .We live in the Nucleus. My friend Mr.Ribosome and I used to live together, until he moved to the Rough ER. Justice: Hi my name is Mr. Ribosome. I build proteins using the process of translation, I live in the Rough ER. I traveled through the pores of the Nucleus to get to my new home, the Rough ER. I make these proteins by getting coded instructions from the DNA which is called mRNA which is made by a process of transcription. Stephan: What up! Im the Rough ER. I take proteins and make them better. Darissa: Hey, chillax bro I help too. Im the smooth ER bro. You made it sound like you do all the work, but I make lipids and break down toxins. Raven: Heres the shipment of proteins you ordered. (walks by Kamran.) Im the vesicle. I deliver material to the Smooth and Rough ER. (points to Kamran) This is the cytoskeleton. Kamran: Im the cytoskeleton, I run the railways here, everything travels through me. Mrs Vesicle here, travels through me every day to make her deliveries. I also help the cells to maintain their shape. Rikkiya: Hey Im the golgi apparatus, after the smooth ER and the rough ER finish with proteins, I package them! Drops it into a box that says to the cell membrane. Hmm..it feels like were running low on energy these days.... Danny: Hey! No were not! Im converting all the oxygen and glucose we need to make a sufficient amount of energy! Rikkiya: Thats mr. mitochondria, hes way too touchy. He supplies the entire Cell with energy. Danny: Almost throws bottle in the bin, then Garreth stops him. Garreth: STOP! I can recycle that! Im a Lysosome, I break down Lipids, Carbohydrates, and Proteins into smaller molecules that can be used and reused by the cell. Nia: peacefully sleeping.Suddenly wakes up, Hey get back to work you guys! Everyone scurries back to work, Im the nucleus I run this whole operation I decide what kind of cell were going to be, I contain the DNA and coded instructions for making proteins! Im the brain of this cell! Now its time to synthesize some proteins! Collin: Ribosomes assemble!
