A. A. The inform ation below assum es y ou hav e already changed the IP address of the m achine ( Start - Settings Control Panel - Netw ork - Protocols - TCP/IP - Properties) and hav e rebooted. The scenario below assu m es the old IP address w as 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 and the new is 2 00.2 00.2 00.8

1 . We need to configu re a second IP address for the network card - Start the Netw ork Control Panel Applet ( Start - Settings - Control Panel - Network) - Click on the Protocol tab - Select TCP/IP and click Properties - Click Adv anced and click Add - Enter the old IP address, e.g. 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 and click Add - Click OK until y ou are back at the Control Panel - Reboot 2 . Start the DNS Manager (Start - Program s - Adm inistrativ e Tools - DNS Manager) - Right click the "Serv er List" and select New Serv er - Enter the new IP address, e.g. 2 00.2 00.2 00.8 and click OK - Select the old IP address, e.g. 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 and right click - Select "Delete Serv er" from the context m enu and click Yes to confirm 3 . While in the DNS Manager, u pdate the record for this serv er - Select the IP address of the DNS serv er, e.g. 2 00.2 00.2 00.8, select the dom ain nam e, e.g. SAVILLTECH.COM - Double click the entry for the serv er and update the IP address, i.e. it wou ld hav e had 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 to bugsbunny , change to 2 00.2 00.2 00.8 - Click OK 4. Now w e will delete the secondary IP address w e added - Start the Netw ork Control Panel Applet ( Start - Settings - Control Panel - Network) - Click on the Protocol tab - Select TCP/IP and click Properties - Click Adv anced and select the address, e.g. 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 and click Rem ov e - Click OK until back at control panel - You w ill need to reboot at som e point to rem ov e the 2 00.2 00.2 00.3 from being activ e

Update all the clients to u se the new DNS serv er IP address. The abov e procedu re is the m ost com plete w ay , howev er it should still w ork if y ou only perform steps 2 and 3 .
