Their roles are to create the inspiration for fellow teenagers that are watching the video to prove

that with enough hard work and effort, almost anything is achievable. I chose to have 2 main narratives which are very similar running through my video as I believe with just 1 character the audience would get bored, and with more than 2 the audience would lose concentration and understanding. Also, I made sure I had 1 male and 1 female main character to incorporate the uses and gratification theory in that both genders will be inspired and attracted to my music video. Other actors that I have featured in the video are teenagers in the sixth form of my school who played the roles of the crowds for both the inside basketball and dance scenes. I made sure the crowds were of teenagers so the target audience would understand the importance of support and friends at their times in their lives, and be encouraged to do the same for their peer groups. Similarly, my target audience are teenagers themselves so they are more likely to be influenced by other people of the same age, rather than 40 year olds. I also used the help of some of my close friends who came to a few of the shoots with me to help with setting up, the fashion and clothing of the characters and to read lyrics or play the song when necessary. This was quite useful for my main character Ted as sometimes he needed to listen to the song before he mimed the lyrics, as I had to make sure the timing was accurate.
