Meredith Butler Honors Freshman Seminar: Monday 11am Recreational Services Reflection Im really glad the Rec services

guys could take some time to come visit us and talk about all the opportunities on campus. The jokes were a bit dated and cheesy and I admit that we were a bit tired and unresponsive, but it was a very cheerful and helpful talk. I do definitely feel like I know more about what all is available on campus for me and Ive been really interested in some sports clubs as well like fencing or paintball. Not to mention I got a free t-shirt out of it! I honestly think fitness, or some form of health education, is important for my generation right now; especially since its become a very popular and controversial topic globally. We have classes but were not required to take any. I know some colleges require freshman to take at least one fitness class whether that be running or rock climbing, and while Im not complaining about it, staying in shape should still be a priority. However, if were not required to take a class at least we have plenty of opportunities to stay in shape by our own doings in a variety of ways. Personally, being a freshman and a girl at that, the freshman fifteen was my biggest motivator to go to the gym but its also a good way meet people too, especially through clubs. Overall I really enjoyed the Rec Services guys taking the time to talk with us. Im definitely going to start showing up to some Zumba and yoga fitness classes when I can and on weekends Ill hopefully be working out too.
