PRESS INFORMATION FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 29 NOVEMBER 2012 VIVID PROJECTS LAUNCHES!

Vivid Projects will launch a new art space in Warwick Bar, part of Birminghams vibrant Eastside/Digbeth creative quarter on 22 February 2013. The new agency has been developed by the curatorial team behind VIVID which ran an acclaimed seven year programme in Digbeth from 2005-2012. Vivid Projects went live on 1 November with a presentation at BFI Southbank for the Channel 4 and Film Culture 30th Anniversary Conference.

We are delighted to announce that key funding awards from Arts Council England and Henry Moore will support Vivid Projects to deliver a fantastic series of exhibitions and events during 2013 and 2014 in Birminghams Eastside area and with regional partners including Flatpack and The Barber.

The opening multi-media season 33 REVOLUTIONS will be a vibrant and sometimes challenging 8-month programme that asks the question; can art and culture be a catalyst for social change? It will encompass 33 events, exhibitions, performances and interventions and features new video and sound installations, rare archive and documentary moving image, sound recordings and print media from 1960s to the present. 33 REVOLUTIONS will bring work from film makers, activists and artists from a diverse range of cultural situations and societies spanning the US, UK, the Middle East and Asia, right to the heart of Birmingham.

For more information on the opening season #33Revs you are welcome to come and meet the Vivid Projects curators who will be on site at Warwick Bar for Winterfest from 5pm on 14 December and 3-5pm 15 December. Refreshments will be available. Press enquiries should be sent to laura@vividprojects.org.uk and interview requests to yasmeen@vividprojects.org.uk.
