Brick Walls The air was still and all around was dead silence.

Jacob cried out in pain as he tried to catch a glimpse of his surroundings. Where was he? He had no idea. All he knew was that he was having a nightmare that he would never, ever, wake up from. How many days had he been here? After three, he had lost count. All he knew was that it could have been weeks, months... The last memory he could recall was a cool, slightly drizzly day at the lake house with his mom and younger sister. They had been swimming at shore and that night he slept well because of all the activity of the day. Sometime during that night it had happened. Jacob was taken. Kidnapped. He didn't know how, he didn't know who had done it; all he knew was that there was no hope... Unless...yes. Unless someone was out looking for him. But Jacob didn't believe it. Not truly. If someone wanted to find him, they already would have, right? He knew his mother wasn't at all the type to "go the extra mile." She was a good mother, but he knew she was the type to give up. And his Grandfather, the one person Jacob had always been able to talk to, had passed away earlier that year. He knew if Grandfather were still here he wouldnt be trapped in this dungeon, this hell, wherever it was.
