In this project we had to come up with a design in Foilsim and work with the dimensions the program gave us until we could find a glider design that would be able to fly. We had to work with lift and drag and calculate the velocity our glider would have. Once we had a suitable design that was in our constraints we could start building! We were given balsa wood and we were to measure and scale our parts. After this we sanded it down and started to put the pieces together. We then had to test fly our gliders to see how many yards they could fly straight and smooth without crashing into the wall. I had to work with the nose mass until I found mass that flew well and the farthest mine got was 23ft. You will be able to see my glider design in these next pictures.

* This project was very beneficial to me and I
learned a lot about how much weight can affect the flight. Even if you go over by a decimal it will create much more drag and completely destroy your lift. As you can see in the numbers I was able to build a working glider and stay in the constraints I was given.
