What type of childcare do you use?


The most popular form of childcare has shown to be nurseries. This is also in fact the most expensive at around 177 per week.

How much do you spend on childcare per week?


More than three quarters of our audience said that they pay between 150 and 200 in childcare fees per week. A couple of people are spending more than 200 a week and no one is paying less than 100. This means they will most likely be interested in Nick Cleggs new free childcare scheme.

Are you in full time or part time work?


90% of our sample are said to be in full time work with the remaining 10% opting for part time.

Have you ever considered quitting work in order to personally look after your child?
1 in 5 admitted that theyve thought about quitting work due to financial pressures.

Nick Clegg has recently introduced a new scheme which means under 2s will receive 15 hours a week of free pre-school education. Is this something you would be interested in?
Our entire sample said yes, they would be interested in this new scheme. This is therefore something we can heavily focus on in our documentary so that they receive more information about the topic.

How much do you think is the annual cost of raising a child?


The majority estimated that we spend 6,336 on a child each year. The answer is actually considerably more than this - 8,307. This shows that the average parent is not fully aware of the financial side of things; our documentary will aim to give them more important facts and information.
