Pablo Arellano English 1101 Jeff McNeil 11/12/12 Lolita Throughout the book Humbert tells his story

while in jail and refers to his audience as ladies and gentleman of the jury which shows how he has a way with words and is trying to sound as formal as possible. As Humbert tells his story he also seems to be making up parts of his story as he goes on. Humbert goes on and talks about how his family was a wealthy family and how he had a good childhood. He them talks about when his mom dies which was very dramatic for him. Humbert then continues his story to Annabel Leigh who was what seems the biggest part of his childhood. He talks about how they began just as friends but then became love between them, he also states how they never got have sex. As Humbert begins to talk about Lolita he says how he had a better clear image of Lolita than he did of Annabel. Even though many years had passed between Humbert meeting Annabel and him meeting Lolita, Lolita remembered him of his young love he and Annabel had, until she died. Annabel and Lolita seem to be related in many occasions when he is talking about them. In some cases when Humbert is talking Lolita it seems that Humbert is making Lolita up.
