CCSD Human Resources: I am applying for an elementary teaching position with the Clark County School District. I graduated from Nevada State College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and continuing my education at UNLV with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Education. My resume is enclosed.

My experiences working with Clark County School District students have enhanced my development as a teacher. As part of the Nevada State College Teacher Preparation Program, I completed over 85 hours of observation in CCSD classrooms. In addition, I volunteered over 100 hours to work with students in small groups and to become more familiar with daily teaching duties. I also provided free tutoring to students located in a Title 1 School. Not only did I gain valuable experience writing, delivering, and reflecting on individual lesson plans, but also I developed a better understanding of cultural diversity. As a substitute teacher I gained experience through the opportunities to work with a variety of grade levels in the elementary level. The culminations of these opportunities has enhanced my teaching skills and solidified my passion and goal to teach students in the Clark County School District.

I believe that passion is the number one quality that sets me apart from others. Since the time I was old enough to talk, I knew teaching would be my lifelong career. Nothing is more rewarding than working alongside students to set goals, overcome challenges and watch them become successful and independent. By hiring me, you will gain an individual who is motivated, dedicated, and inspired to provide our future generations a chance to grow in a learning rich environment.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss my credentials with you. I am a qualified candidate and I look forward to teaching in the school district that provided me with a quality education throughout all my elementary, middle and high school years. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully yours,

Kayla Kreier
