proclaimed today, December 3, 2012, the start of its annual week long Involvement for Community event by stating that a caring co mpany and engaged employees create a recipe for community enrichment. Since our founding, the Company has realized that it needs to play a positive ro le in its communities where it does business. To have a prospering business in t hriving communities is the ideal we seek. The Companys shared values are points of focus that are the essence of our corporate culture. One of those values is sim ply Concern for One Another. It is demonstrated in our approach to community servi ce, said Jane Courtney, Head of Human Resources. The Company has a formalized program of charitable giving that grants funds to w orthwhile causes. Education, health, human services and civic projects receive t he greatest attention. The Company has always supported the efforts of national and local food banks. Communities in all of our regional locations have benefite d from charitable donations from Olympia. Since its inception, the Company has held a special day that has become known as Charity Day. Employees work eight hours with that pay donated to local charities , and that money is matched dollar for dollar by the Company. Employees worldwid e participate with proceeds being donated to local charities as a result. Its a g reat team effort, Ms. Courtney went on to say. It is the responsibility of our Charitable Donations Committee to make recommend ations for donating directly from the Company. The members of the Committee are appointed by the Corporate Board of Directors and are authorized to make donatio ns in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines. Additionally, the Company may participate in major building fund campaigns in ou r communities for hospitals, colleges and museums. Our employees are the backbone of the Companys civic efforts. Around the world, e mployees devote time and talent to civic causes as volunteers. From the office t rading floor to the executive offices, Olympia Capital Research, Ltd. employees are compelled to serve those in need. This spirit of volunteerism carries on a l egacy that speaks to the culture of Olympia Capital Research, Ltd.
