Abstract
In this paper, the wastewater from a potato processing industry was examined. The main aim was to determine its qualitative and quantitative characteristics and the efficiency of anaerobic digestion as a treatment method of such a wastewater.
The pollutant load of this wastewater was COD 4800-7025mg/l,
BOD5 1800-2950mg/l, SS 2500-4800mg/l and pH 6,2-6,9. It was
proved that anaerobic biological treatment is applicable to
wastewater of potato processing industries with high efficiency
up to 82% in COD and 75% in D5.
