Visual or radio contact to be kept with rescuers at all times Chemical Protection (Gas tight or CPS) Use of tallies to identify lines Use intrinsically safe communications and equipment Illumination of confined space All personnel to receive information training and instruction on the hazards likely to be encountered and associated with confined spaces. Personnel working at heights to be kept to a minimum Personnel working in exposed areas to be secured by lined and supervised at all times Equipment not in use returned to equipment pool as soon as possible. The OIC or appointed safety officer will ensure the area below personnel are kept clear at all times

All personnel to don suitable PPE to include positive pressure breathing apparatus fire kit, hard hat, gloves and protective footwear.
