Debate Boxing
Like a boxing match, allow a single proposer from a team make points against a single opposer from another team. Allow
two minutes a bout. Allow one minute prep between bouts. Have three bouts. Get three students to adjudicate and give a
point for a good argument, two points for an argument that an opposer finds difficult to deal with, three points for an
argument that completely floors an opponent. The judges announce scores after each round and then a final winner.
Change speakers. The team of students can help their "fighter" when he returns to his corner between bouts. They can not
call out help. The teacher/coach is the ref. In the case that a speaker will not stop speaking he calls "clinch" and allows the
opposer to reply.
