EVS project Sea is Life took place at Island Sustainability Education Centre in Murter, Island of Murter. The main theme of the project was nature and environment conservation – biodiversity and eco-system of Kornati Archipelago (Adriatic Sea). The objective of the project was to raise awareness of the local community and wider public about the importance of sea environment conservation with help of European Voluntary Service that two volunteers (1 from France, 1 from Spain) took for duration of 12 months – volunteers helped our organization and they have lived at the Island of Murter. Volunteers gained benefits from the project in personal and social development; partner organizations (sending and hosting) established strong relations in civil sectors between three European countries. Local community of Murter Island was informed and educated about YiA Program (EVS) and became stronger involved in civil activism (through Argonauta). Volunteers participated in all the activities done in Argonauta and Islands Sustainability Education Centre and by doing so; this enriched its contents and perceived values. Volunteers had, with means of non-formal education, deepened their life experience in a new culture different from their own.
