History of VA 764 In February 2007 we bought VA 764 from Toby Sears of Reading, UK.

The old lady was registered all her life as ELF 576. We rented a trailer and set off from near Stuttgart, south Germany to Reading. After a visit and a hood down test drive a month before (warm British winter) we were very happy to have found the MG of our dreams. After almost fifteen years of T-Type, MGA and MBG basic MG education (and restoration) we finally got a four seater. With the car came the RF60 Registration Book, a replacement of the original one from 1937, which lists the owners from 1960 to late seventies when the V5 form came up. With the further help of the SVW register I could trace down a big part of the life of VA 764. She left Abingdon on Sept. 1st 1937 and was firstly registered on Nov. 25th 1937. The first years are still unknown but in 1956 she was bought by Mr. Roy Bailey of Derbyshire for 110,-. He wrote It is nice to think that it is still on the roads. It supplied me with many years of happiness. (see photo) Then Bridge Motors had the car in 1958, probably as a dealer. Mr. John Charles Watkins of Manchester became owner in October 1960 and the next owner was Mr. Robert Paling Johns, also Manchester. Then I can read John Stephen Poole of Altringham, Cheshire a next owner in the RF60 form.
